Eric Bulpitt

Eric Bulpitt has had a love affair with food from a tender age, but it wasn’t until 1998, while studying hospitality management at the Winchester Mansions Hotel, that he fully realised his passion for the kitchen. As soon as he finished his studies, Eric went straight into working under Chef Jonathan Staley as a commis chef, after which he moved to work under Bruce Robertson at The Showroom Restaurant. In 2006 an opportunity arose to work for the acclaimed George Jardine, at his restaurant Jardine. Eric ascended from chef de partie to sous-chef in the two years to follow. In 2008 he decided to spend some time in London. He spent two months at the now two Michelin starred restaurant, The Ledbury, and a further eight months at Trinity Restaurant, before returning to Cape Town to take up the chef de cuisine position at Restaurant Jardine. The Roundhouse approached Eric and since 2010 he and PJ have been an unstoppable pair. During 2010 Eric travelled to Copenhagen, Denmark, to do a month stage at the world’s number one restaurant, Noma, and before returning home, a week at the one Michelin starred restaurant Herman.
